Solutions package
NATM, Cavern and Cross-Passage Package
For civil contractors driving caverns, station boxes and cross-passages by NATM. Probe-ahead drilling, pre-support and grouting open the heading. Face method is selected by ground and vibration limits, with mechanised charge-up where blasting is used. The primary support cycle pairs bolting jumbo, multi-process platform, steel-arch trolley and shotcrete jumbo. Mucking and scaling, waterproofing membrane, secondary lining, controlled-environment curing and invert formwork follow. Muck haulage, on-site batching, dust control, radar-based lining acceptance and a horizontal rescue drilling rig round out the package. FRP composite bolts are offered for ground regimes where steel is unsuitable.

Scope of supply
Probe-ahead, pre-support and ground treatment
Forward geological forecasting and ground treatment open the heading on cavern, deep station-box and long-access scope. The DGZ rig probes and installs forepoles and spiles; the ZJS plant runs grouting with full-cycle data logging.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Multi-function Drilling Rig
DGZ-series forward probing, MWD, wireline coring and pre-support drilling for forepoles and spiles ahead of the face.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Intelligent Grouting Equipment
ZJS-series water-stop and consolidation grouting for face stabilisation and ground treatment with full-cycle data logging.
Face excavation method
Face method drives the rest of the cycle. A roadheader suits soft to medium rock and vibration-restricted ground. A multi-boom hydraulic jumbo handles hard-rock D&B. The drilling-and-splitting jumbo is the non-blast option.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Roadheader
Mechanical excavation in soft to medium rock and urban station-box ground.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Tunnel Drilling jumbo
Multi-boom hydraulic face drilling for drill-and-blast caverns and station headings.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Drilling and splitting jumbo
Hydraulic-splitting hard-rock excavation where blast vibration is restricted.
D&B charge-up (where blasting)
Mechanised charge-up matches the drilling jumbo on machine-hall-cavern scale. The RHZ rig handles coupled and decoupled charging with controlled charge volume per hole and wireless remote operation.
Mucking, scaling and profile correction
Muck clearance, scaling and profile trimming follow each round. The intelligent tunnelling excavator combines those tasks on one platform; the digital digging-and-loading machine fits smaller cross-sections such as cross-passages and niches.
Primary support cycle: bolting, mesh, arches and shotcrete
NATM depends on the support cycle behind the face. Take the bolting jumbo for systematic and lock-foot bolts, the multi-process platform for mesh and at-height work, the SCD trolley where the ground demands arches, and the HPS jumbo for shotcrete.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Bolting Jumbo
Mechanised primary rock-bolt installation, mesh hanging and grouting.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Shotcrete Jumbo
HPS-series wet-mix shotcrete primary lining with mechanised boom and accelerator dosing.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Tunnel Multi-Process Operation Platform Vehicle
High-reach platform for mesh, scaling, drilling and ancillary support tasks.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Steel arch frame trolley
SCD steel-arch erection and positioning with one-key arch placement and grouting.
Ground-support hardware
FRP composite rock bolts cover corrosion-aggressive ground, electromagnetic-sensitive zones near traction and signalling, and running tunnels where bolts will sit in the cut-out plane of future excavation.
Waterproofing and secondary lining
The lining train runs membrane laying, secondary-lining concrete placement and controlled-environment curing as a sequenced cycle. Mechanised gantries replace at-height membrane handling and manual formwork on station-box and cavern programmes.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Tunnel waterproof board laying formwork gantry
Automatic membrane and reinforcement gantry with matched rebar tying.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Tunnel Digital lining formwork gantry
CQS secondary-lining concrete formwork gantry with dual pouring system and crown-fill monitoring.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Tunnel concrete Digital maintenance formwork gantry
Controlled-temperature, controlled-humidity curing gantry for secondary lining durability.
Invert and trestle
Invert work is the loose end on cavern and station-box programmes. The YDZQ self-propelled trestle bridge lets face works and invert construction run in parallel rather than holding each other up.
Cross-passage method
Cross-passages link twin bored tunnels and connect caverns and station boxes to running tunnels. Pick one method per drive based on ground, length and vibration limits.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Roadheader
Mechanical excavation in soft to medium rock with flexible geometry for niches and asymmetric crossings.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Tunnel Drilling jumbo
Sequential drill-and-blast excavation for short or hard-rock cross-passages.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Drilling and splitting jumbo
Hydraulic-splitting option where vibration limits near operational tunnels or surface assets rule out explosives.

Tunnel Boring Machines
Cross-Passage TBM
Dedicated cross-passage TBM for sealed launch and reception through main-tunnel segmental lining.
Muck handling
Long-haul cavern access tunnels and deep station boxes need continuous muck transport. The continuous belt covers heading-to-portal removal; the vertical belt handles shaft hoisting; the bridge transfer belt follows the lead excavator.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Continuous belt conveyor
Heading-to-portal continuous spoil removal along the tunnel side or crown.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Vertical Belt Conveyor
Shaft-hoist spoil removal for deep station-box launches and cavern access shafts.

Tunnel Excavation & Support
Bridge-type transfer belt conveyor
Long-span face-transfer belt that follows the lead excavator's attitude.
Shotcrete and concrete supply
On-site batching covers shotcrete and lining concrete supply where off-site plants are not viable. The HZS modular plant suits sustained pours with single-operator control and one-key wash-down.
Air quality, dust and ventilation
Dust loading after a D&B round limits re-entry. The CRCHI tunnel dust collector is a self-propelled unit with two-stage axial fans and pulse-jet cleaning, sitting behind the face for post-blast clearance.
Lining QA and acceptance
Radar verification of secondary-lining thickness, density and rebar distribution supports acceptance before track-bed or pavement works. The CQJ10 vehicle carries a multi-channel radar array on a telescopic boom for synchronous full-section measurement.
Emergency rescue
Cavern and deep station-box headings under high overburden carry collapse exposure comparable to a hard-rock mine drive. The DJZ800-ND civil-spec variant provides a horizontal rescue passage with dual diesel and electric power.
Engineering and R&D
CRCHI Australia brings full OEM engineering and R&D capacity to every package. Most catalogue equipment is configurable to project requirements; project-specific scope is engineered to brief; and where a project calls for it, a complete solution is developed from the ground up. Typical tailoring on cavern and station-box scope includes formwork-gantry geometry, drilling-rig boom configuration, shotcrete-jumbo reach and bespoke FRP ground-support sections matched to the cavern profile.
