Solutions package

Hard-Rock Drill and Blast Package

For civil contractors running hard-rock road tunnels and hydropower headrace and tailrace tunnels. The package equips the full drill-and-blast round: a DGZ multi-function rig for probe-ahead and forepoling, a ZJS intelligent grouting plant for water-stop and consolidation works, a hydraulic face jumbo with a drilling-and-splitting alternative for vibration-restricted faces, a mechanised charge-up rig, an intelligent tunnelling excavator for mucking and scaling, primary support with bolts, arches and shotcrete, and a horizontal rescue drilling rig. An HZS modular batching plant and slag crushing line support on-site aggregate production. A waterproofing, secondary-lining and invert-formwork train is included for sections that require a full CIP final lining.

Hard-Rock Drill and Blast Package

Who it's for

Civil contractors tendering hard-rock road tunnels and hydropower headrace and tailrace tunnels in Australia.

When to specify this package

  • Hard-rock road tunnels with full CIP secondary lining.
  • Hydropower headrace and tailrace tunnels in competent rock.
  • Long single-heading drives requiring on-site batching and aggregate.
  • Vibration-restricted portals or approaches needing non-blast advance.

Scope of supply

Probe-ahead and pre-support drilling

Probing ahead of the face on long hard-rock drives manages fault-zone, water-inflow and ground-class-transition risk. The DGZ multi-function rig handles advance drilling, MWD coring and forepoling from one chassis.

Pre-injection and consolidation grouting

Probe-ahead is followed by water-stop or consolidation grouting before advancing through fault zones or water-bearing ground. The ZJS plant integrates storage, mixing, pumping and data logging on one platform.

Mechanised charge-up

Mechanised charging cuts powder-factor variance and pulls crews back from the face. The RHZ tunnel platform is the civil unit; the mining RHZ vehicle suits adjacent mining-civil drives with higher duty cycles.

Shotcrete and on-site batching

Wet-mix shotcrete is the primary lining behind the face. The HPS shotcrete jumbo runs civil tunnels with intelligent spray-path planning. The UPS-20J(B) suits narrower mining-civil drives. The HZS modular batching plant supports remote alignments.

Lining quality acceptance

Road-tunnel acceptance includes radar-based verification of lining thickness, density and reinforcement before track-bed or pavement works. The CQJ10 carries a multi-channel radar array for synchronous full-section measurement.

Air quality and ventilation

Post-blast air quality drives cycle time on long single-heading tunnels. The plateau-type tunnel dust collector is a mobile extraction unit with self-cleaning cluster filters, sized for face air quality.

Emergency rescue

Horizontal rescue drilling rig opens an escape passage in collapse events on a hard-rock heading. The DJZ800-ND variant is configured for transport-infrastructure work; the ZYL-580/800S full-hydraulic variant suits coal mining.

Engineering and R&D

CRCHI Australia brings full OEM engineering and R&D capacity to every package. Most catalogue equipment is configurable to project requirements; project-specific scope is engineered to brief; and where a project calls for it, a complete solution is developed from the ground up. Typical tailoring on hard-rock D&B drives includes face-jumbo boom configuration, charging-rig hose runs, shotcrete reach, lining-gantry geometry and slag-line throughput matched to the drive.
