Pipe Jacking

Mining Pipe Jacking Machine

The mining pipe jacking machine is a slurry-balance variant configured for underground mining duty, used for coal-mine gas drainage drives from inside a working mine. The machine carries the same slurry-balance face support, articulation and guidance as the surface pipe jacking range, with the cutterhead and back-up packaged for the limited working volumes and ground conditions of coal-mine workings.

Mining Pipe Jacking Machine

Features

01

Slurry-balance face support controls pressure in mixed and water-bearing ground encountered in underground mining

02

Cutterhead configured per geology, including rock cutterheads with disc cutters for harder seam-boundary strata

03

Articulation joints and steering cylinders allow accurate turning on curved drainage alignments

04

High-precision guidance system holds line and grade through the drive

05

PLC control with real-time monitoring and data acquisition

06

Air-cushion chamber and pressurised man lock allow cutter changes under normal pressure

Configuration and engineering

Every CRCHI TBM is engineered to project. Shield diameter, cutterhead geometry, drive power, segmental ring design and back-up arrangement are configured to the alignment, ground conditions and water pressure of the drive. Project-specific scope beyond the standard envelope is engineered to brief, and where a drive calls for it, a machine is developed from the ground up. CRCHI Australia is the engineering, commercial, commissioning and aftermarket point of contact for Australian projects.
