CRCHI rolled off two single-shield TBMs from the Changsha production line on 26 March 2026, delivered for the Fortezza Railway Tunnel between Verona and Fortezza. Each machine has a 9.68 metre excavation diameter, a length of approximately 175 metres and a weight of around 2,600 tonnes, configured for the project's extremely hard rock, exceptionally long drives and multiple fault zones. The two machines will undertake parallel excavation of the twin-tube, double-track railway tunnel, with each required to bore 12.75 kilometres. They are the 11th and 12th CRCHI machines exported to Italy and incorporate permanent magnet synchronous motors, automatic segment handling and adaptive power management against European Union environmental and operational-safety standards.
